Auditory Impairments Provide printed handouts, If websites with audio are used then the audio details must be provided in printed form, Sign language interpreter Record a lesson and use Express Scribe to transcribe the audio. Learners with auditory impairments can use a printer to produce the transcription to follow along. While not free, an option to facitlitate communication between the teacher and the learner with a hearing impairment is UNI It captures sign-language motions and interprets them.
Physical Impairments Provide alternative input methods, allow students with physical needs opportunities to sit in locations conducive to learning, There are many physical technologies available to learners with physical impairments. There are specialized styli: Faraday stylus and HandPointer and specialized holders/cases: Gumdrop Hideaway, iPad Gripcase, and Tab-legs Another option is to provide support for iOS users to help them setup their devices for better accessibility.
Learning Impairments Provide a glossary of terms before the class begins, provide all printed materials ahead of the class, Use Powerpoint to create a slide deck with all important concepts and terms defined, if at all possible use picture to help clarify meanings. Use Word to organize the printed transcripts and lesson materials.
