news from home: catching up. . .

We had our spirits boosted today.  Our phone rang.  Well, actually, our computer rang.  It was MAGGIE!! And the MONDAY family!  What a great surprise!

Maggie is our favorite 6-year-old (formerly our favorite 5-year-old).  She’s awesome with a capital A.  We had a bunch of catching up to do since it’s been months since we talked. Maggie informed us that she likes kindergarten and that recess is her favorite subject.  She’s grown up since we last saw her.  She had her 6-year-old birthday party in November and there was a magician at the party.  Super cool.  And she’s watching big-kid shows like Hannah Montana.  She’s lost three teeth but has a bunch to go.  Wowsers, she IS growing up.  She does NOT have a boyfriend and she made a yuck face when asked.  Touchy subject, I guess.  Maggie also updated us on how people in Raleigh are behaving.  Katie (her sister) isn’t behaving.  Cyril is trouble too apparently, according to Maggie.  Baby Charleigh screams all the time and Maggie demonstrated the screams.  It doesn’t sound pleasant, even at a distance.  We made silly faces at each other on the webcam.  We giggled.  And Katie even tickled Maggie for us.  We also talked with Marie and JD (her mom & dad) for a few minutes and caught up with them, too.  It was GREAT!

Maggie, Marie, JD, Katie, Ann Marie, Holly, Baby Charleigh — we love and miss y’all.  Thanks for the call and the chat.  It made us feel closer to you and to home. And we needed that!
