a few things about cold

I don’t know whether I like wet slushy snow better than light pelty snow or vice versa.
While the snow is beautiful and makes everything look frosty and fresh, I shudder to think of all the trash that is buried beneath it.  I’m sure we’ll see it come spring.
Most Sundays, the inside of our little Catholic house of prayer is colder than it is outside.  But still, we all show up for Mass, all 15 of us, bundled in three and four layers.  I find that inspiring.
The Roma children who beg in our town are doubly hard to ignore when it’s frigid and they aren’t wearing socks. I still haven’t figured out what I can do in my encounters with them that would be of benefit.
The stray dogs in town are much friendlier when it’s cold and snowy.  I wonder what they are up to.
When my head is congested by a cold, my Romanian stinks.  It took me two tries to say februarie today and that’s a cognate!
